All you hear about in these trying times is Corona this and Corona that. Well, I have a slightly different take for everyone.

Starting on lockdown day, every hour on the hour, for every hour that I am awake I will do 5 push-ups and 5 sit-ups for 1 week. The next week 10 and the following week 20. Now as you can see from those numbers I’m not exactly going to look like Arnie when we are done here. The point is not to change in these 3 weeks the point is to start getting into good habits and any start that you make is good enough.

So what’s the point then?

Wellbeing at home for 3 weeks isn’t easy. Especially in this day and age where we have so many people who suffer from anxiety and depression. This is one way of keeping your mind on something other than #CoronaVirus. It’s a way of escaping and it can also be done by the whole family as an activity for the day.

Mental health will be key in these next 21 days, so set yourself a target each day and try to reach it. Push yourself to see what you can do.

Week 1:5 Push-ups + 5 sit-ups

Week 2: 10 push-ups + 10 sit-ups

Week 3: 20 push-ups + 20 sit-ups

It’s also important to use these numbers as guidelines. Not everyone is as fit as the next person. You must know your limits, especially in these uncertain times. So whether you start with 3 or even 2, the point is that you are actively making the decision not to be put down during lockdown.

Understandably there are fitness freaks out there who will laugh at those numbers I put up but this isn’t for them. This is for the average Joe. To try to ease the stress of lockdown.

I will post videos on our Facebook page as often as possible with my progress and also how it helps me during my day! Good luck with your personal lockdown journey and if you are joining me then feel free to comment on Facebook, Twitter etc.
