The second week of the 2019 NFL season has ended, so let’s take a look at what’s happened and what to expect in week 3.

Game 1: Carolina Panthers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Bank Of America Stadium

Panthers 14 (0-2) – Buccaneers 20 (1-1)

Takeaways: Not the hottest start for the Carolina Panthers after going 0-2. Cam Newton threw for 333 yards, Greg Olsen the big tight end had 6 receptions for 103 yards and Curtis Samuel had 5 catches for 91 yards. Panthers kicker Joey Slye was nothing short of amazing for the Panthers kicking for 12 of their 14 points. Jameis Wintson threw for 208 yards with 1 TD with Chris Godwin receiving the TD pass as well as getting 121 yards on 8 receptions. Peyton Barber also had a productive day with 23 carries, 82 yards and 1 rushing TD. Bucs’ Shaquil Barrett had 3 sacks and Vernon Hargreaves totaled 11 tackles in the game. Dontari Poe and Brian Burns each got a sack for the Panthers. The Bucs take on the Giants and the Panthers look to get their first win against the Cardinals. Cam Newton is also dealing with an aggravated foot injury so QB Kyle Allen takes his place.

Game 2: Baltimore Ravens vs Arizona Cardinals at the M&T Bank Stadium

Ravens 23 (2-0) – Cardinals 17 (0-1-1)

Takeaways: Lamar Jackson continues his hot start this year for the Ravens by throwing for 272 yards and 2 TD as well as 120 yards rushing. Marquise Brown had over 86 yards receiving including an incredible sideline catch from Lamar and tight ends Mark Andrews and Hayden Hurst getting a TD each. Andrews also had 112 yards receiving. Justin Tucker kicked for 11 points of the 23 scored by Baltimore. Kyler Murray who nearly completed a second come back threw for an impressive 349 yards with Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald over 100 yards receiving each. David Johnson had the only TD for the Cards and kicker Zane Gonzalez had a 100% kicking record getting 9 points for his team. Brandon Carr, Pernell McPhee and Matthew Judon managed to get a sack each against the Cards. Corey Peters and Cassius Marsh also got a sack each on Lamar. The Ravens face the formidable Chiefs this weekend and the Cards face the Panthers. Hopefully the Cards offensive line can protect Kyler Murray this weekend against the aggressive Panthers defense.

Game 3: Detroit Lions vs Los Angeles Chargers at Ford Field

Lions 13 (1-0-1) – Chargers 10 (1-1)

Takeaways: Lions QB Matt Stafford threw for 245 yards with 2 TD and 2 INT with Kenny Golladay getting 1 TD and 117 yards and Kerryon Johnson getting the other TD. Phillip Rivers who had a down day threw for 293 yards and 1 INT and the running back Austin Ekeler getting the only TD for his team. Keenan Allen had the most yards receiving for the Chargers with 98 yards and Mike Williams in second with 83 yards. Casey Hayward and Rayshawn Jenkins picking up an interception each for the Chargers. The Lions will face the Eagles this week and the Chargers take on the Houston Texans. I don’t see the Lions upsetting the Eagles and the Chargers against the Texans should make for a good game.

Game 4: Tennessee Titans vs Indianapolis Colts

Titans 17 (1-1) – Colts 19 (1-1)

Takeaways: Marcus Mariota threw for a mere 154 yards and 1 TD with Derrick Henry rushing for 81 yards and 1 TD and with David Quessenberry getting 1 yard receiving and 1 TD. Logan Ryan had the only INT for the Titans and Harold Landry and Isaiah Mack getting a sack each. Jacoby Brissett who had some big shoes to fill after Andrew Luck’s sudden retirement managed to scrape a win against the Titans throwing for 146 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT. T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell had a TD each with tight end Eric Ebron getting the other TD. Denico Autry and Darius Leonard got 3 sacks between them. Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri didn’t have his best game with retirement rumors circulating around the league. The Colts face the Falcons and the Titans take on Jags. The Titans should win against the Jags and the Colts won’t have it easy against Atlanta.

Game 5: Cincinnati Bengals vs San Francisco 49ers at the Paul Brown Stadium

Bengals 17 (0-2) – 49ers 41 (2-0)

Takeaways: Andy Dalton had another big yard week throwing for 311 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT (he currently is second in passing yards) Tyler Boyd and John Ross with over 100 yards receiving each. Ross and Eifert got the only TD’s for the Bengals. William Jackson also got the the only INT for Cincinnati. Jimmy G who proved his doubters wrong once again threw for 296 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT. Running back Matt Breida got 121 yards rushing and Jeffrey Wilson had 2 rushing TD. Samuel, Goodwin and Mostert all had a receiving TD against the Bengals. Blair, Armstead and Thomas got a sack each with Kwon Alexander getting a pick against Andy Dalton. Kicker Robbie Gould scored 11 points for the 49ers. The Bengals face the Bills who have yet to lose and the 49ers face the Steelers at home.

Game 6: Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars at the NRG Stadium

Texans 13 (1-1) – Jaguars 12 (0-2)

Takeaways: Deshaun Watson who still has no protection from the offensive line only threw for 159 yards and rushed in for 1 TD and ex-Browns running back Carlos Hyde managed to rush for 90 yards. Cunningham had 9 tackles and 1 sack with Mercilus getting 2 sacks and Omenihu getting 1 sack. Texans kicker Ka’imi Fairburn had a 100% record and added 7 points to help the Texans win. Backup Gardner Minshew who is currently in place for an injured Nick Foles threw for 213 yards and 1 TD with DJ Chark receiving the TD. Harrison, Hayden, Jacobs and Jack got 3 sacks between them and kicker Josh Lambo adding 6 points. The Texans face the Chargers at home and Jaguars take on the Titans and their outstanding defense.

Game 7: Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field

Packers 21 (2-0) – Vikings 16 (1-1)

Takeaways: Aaron Rodgers got off to a hot start especially in the first quarter and ended the game with 209 yards and 2 TD. Aaron Jones rushed for 116 yards and 1 TD with Allison and Williams getting a receiving TD each. Davante Adams racked up the yards with 106 yards on 7 receptions. Blake Martinez had 10 tackles against the Vikings with King and Smith both getting a pick against Kirk Cousins. Kenny Clark had the only sack of the game for Green Bay. Kirk Cousins who is currently in the hotseat threw for 230 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Dalvin Cook had a monster week at running back with 154 yards and 1 TD and Stephon Diggs getting the only receiving TD on 1 reception for 49 yards. Hunter and Joseph both got a sack against Rodgers. The Vikings face the Raiders and the Packers take on the Broncos. Easy wins for both teams here.

Game 8: Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys at FedEx Field

Redskins 21 (0-2) – Cowboys 31 (2-0)

Takeaways: Case Keenum threw for 221 yards and 2 TD with McLaurin and Richardson receiving 1 TD each. Adrian Peterson also rushed for 1 TD. Montae Nicholson got the only INT for the Redskins. Dak Prescott who continues to show signs of progress and leadership had another great week throwing for 269 yards, 3 TD and 1 INT, he also rushed for 69 yards. Star running back Zeke rushed for 111 yards and 1 TD with Devin, Cooper and Witten getting a TD to their name. Byron Jones had 8 tackles and Tyrone Crawford managing to get a sack. Brett Maher added 7 points to the board for the Cowboys. Cowboys take on the weakened Dolphins and the Redskins face the Bears and their aggressive defense. The Cowboys should annihilate the Dolphins at home.

Game 9: Pittsburgh Steelers vs Seattle Seahawks at Heinz Field

Steelers 26 (0-2) – Seahawks 28 (2-0)

Takeaways: The worst start to the season Mike Tomlin has had thus far. Steelers Big Ben threw 75 yards before leaving the field due to injury with back up Mason Rudolph taking his place throwing 112 yards, 2 TD and 1 INT. James Connor rushed for 1 TD with Vance McDonald standing out and getting 2 TD to his name. Watt, Tuitt and Baron 4 sacks between them with Terrell Edmunds getting 8 tackles. Russell Wilson had the perfect week throwing for 300 yards and 3 TD. Rashaad Penny rushed in for a TD with D.K Metcalf getting his first TD of his NFL career and Will Dissly getting 2 TD. Jackson got the only sack for the Seahawks and McDougald getting a pick against Rudolph. The Seahawks face a regressing Saints team with Drew Brees out for 6 weeks and the Steelers take on the 49ers who are currently in good form.

Game 10: New York Giants vs Buffalo Bills at the MetLife Stadium

Giants 14 (0-2) – Bills 28 (2-0)

Takeaways: Eli Manning struggled again this week throwing for 250 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT with T.J Jones receiving the TD. Saquon showed us just how great he is rushing for 107 yards and 1 TD this past week. Jenkins had the most tackles for the Giants with 7 meanwhile Golden, Pierre, Carter and Ximenes getting 3 sacks between them. Josh Allen threw for 253 yards and 1 TD and rushed in for another TD. Gore and Singletary both rushed for a TD and McKenzie had the TD pass from Allen. Murphy and Poyer both picked off a Manning attempt and Alexander and Phillips getting 0.5 sack each. The Bills look to keep their win record against the Bengals and the Giants will start rookie Daniel Jones face Tampa Bay.

Game 11: Miami Dolphins vs New England Patriots at the Hard Rock Stadium

Dolphins 0 (0-2) – Patriots 43 (2-0)

Takeaways: After a complete shutout by the Patriots Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had a shocker with only 89 yards and 3 INT and Josh Rosen 97 yards and 1 INT. Biegel and Jenkins both got a sack against the Patriots QB. Tom Brady had another stellar game this weekend with 264 yards, 2 TD and 1 rushing TD meanwhile Sony Michel picked up the other rushing TD of the game. Antonio Brown who started his first game with the Pats got busy early with 56 yards on 4 receptions and 1 TD and James White the running back getting the other TD. Jamie Collins, Stephon Gilmore and Devin McCourty had 4 INT between them with Collins and Gilmore getting a pick-six each. Rookie Chase Vinovich, Danny Shelton, Michael Bennett, John Simon, Adam Butler and Jamie Collins had an astounding 7 sacks between them. The Patriots will take on the Jets and should comfortably win after their QB’s have been riddled with injuries and illnesses and the Dolphins face a Cowboys team on form.

Game 12: Oakland Raiders vs Kansas City Chiefs at the O.co Coliseum.

Raiders 10 (1-1) – Chiefs 28 (2-0)

Takeaways: Oakland QB Derek Carr threw for 198 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT. Running back Josh Jacobs stood out for Oakland with 88 yards rushing and Tyrell Williams receiving the only TD for the Raiders. Benson Mayowa managed to get 1.5 sacks on the Chiefs QB. Reigning MVP Patrick Mahomes dominated once again especially the second quarter. Mahomes threw for a huge 443 yards and 4 TD with Demarcus Robinson having himself a day with 172 yards receiving and 2 TD with Kelce and Hardman picking up the other TD each. Breeland and Ward picked off Carr once each with Fuller, Jones and Kpassagnon getting a sack each on Carr. The Raiders face the Vikings who’ll look to redeem themselves and the Chiefs face the Ravens which should be an absolute spectacle.

Game 13: Los Angeles Rams vs New Orleans Saints at the L.A Memorial Coliseum.

Rams 27 (2-0) – Saints 9 (1-1)

Takeaways: The NFC championship left a sour taste in the Saints’ mouths and were looking to seek revenge against the Rams but unfortunately fell short. Jared Goff threw for 283 yards and 1 TD and rushed for a TD with Todd Gurley rushing for the another. Cooper Kupp had a big yard game with 120 yards and deep threat Brandin Cooks getting the only TD pass thrown by Goff. Brockers and Matthews III each got a sack and John Johnson picked up an INT. Kicker Greg Zuerlein kicked for 9 points to only help the Rams beat the Saints further. Drew Brees who was later escorted off the field due to injury threw for 38 yards and 1 INT while Teddy Bridgewater his replacement came on and threw for 165 yards. Jordan, Davenport and Hendrickson each sacked Goff once and kicker Wil Lutz scored all 9 points for the Saints. The Rams face the shaky Browns and the Saints battle the Seahawks but should struggle without veteran QB Drew Brees.

Game 14: Denver Broncos vs Chicago Bears at Sports Authority Field.

Broncos 14 (0-2) – Bears 16 (1-1)

Takeaways: Veteran QB and 1x Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco threw for 292 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT. Emmanuel Sanders had 98 yards on 11 receptions and 1 TD. Justin Simmons stood out for the Broncos with 8 tackles. Mitch Trubisky who has yet to find his stride threw for only 120 yards. David Montgomery had the only TD of the game for the Bears. Smith and Trevathan got 9 tackles each with Williams and Mack both managing to sack Flacco. Kyle Fuller also managed to get a pick. Kicker Eddy Pinheiro added an astounding 10 points to help his team get the victory over Denver. The Packers face a tough Packers side offensively and defensively and the Bears face the Redskins.

Game 15: Atlanta Falcons vs Philadelphia Eagles at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Falcons 24 (1-1) – Eagles 20 (1-1)

Takeaways: Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 320 yards, 3 TD and 3 INT with Julio Jones receiving 2 and Ridley receiving the other. Jones also had 106 yards receiving while Ridley had 105, both receivers weren’t playing around this game. Jarrett, Clayborn and Beasley each sacked Carson once with Trufant getting 2 INT picking off Wentz twice. Carson Wentz threw for 231 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT as well as rushing for a TD. Josh McCown came on briefly and threw for 24 yards. Receiver Nelson Agholor showed up with 107 yards and 1 TD. Darby, Jones and Gerry picked off 3 passes from Ryan. The Eagles face the Lions and the Falcons take on the Colts. Easy win for the Eagles this weekend and the Falcons will have questions asked about them against the Colts.

Game 16: New York Jets vs Cleveland Browns at the MetLife Stadium

Jets 3 (0-2) – Browns 23 (1-1)

Takeaways: After Sam Darnold stepped away from the game due to Mono the Jets back up Luke Faulk threw for 198 yards before leaving the game and 3rd string QB Trevor Sieman came on throwing for 3 yards. Le’veon Bell was by far the Jets best player getting over 120 yards, rushing for 68 yards and receiving 61. Roberts got an INT against Baker while Hewitt, Cashman, Kaufusi and Basham getting 3 sacks among them. The Browns who had a rocky start in week 1 showed up in week 2 with QB Baker Mayfield throwing for 325 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Nick Chubb rushed for 1 TD and OBJ showed us just how talented he is hauling in an insane 161 yards and 1 TD. Flash Garrett had 3 sacks against the Jets and Burnett having 1. Joe Schobert led the game with 10 tackles and Austin Seibert kicking for 11 points. The Jets take on the Patriots and will have a tough time getting past their impressive defense and scary offense and the Browns face 2019 SuperBowl runner-ups Rams. The Browns will have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to beat this Rams defense.
